As some of you may already know, I am a Pastry Chef specialising in making gorgeous wedding cakes using organic, sustainable and ethical/fairtrade produce. I am also a passionate and dedicated whole food plant based no oil vegan (phew that’s a mouthful!) My primary plant based cooking focus is on family favourite cakes, breads and puddings – I have a hungry husband and toddler to keep happy! (although they love trialling all of my recipes!)
I truly do believe that the world is reaching a global ecological crisis and for me eating this way contributes towards lowering my global footprint (as well as making me super healthy). Now, this isn’t the place to preach (PREACH!) but this IS where I am going to share my plant based journey.
As a Pastry Chef, I was classically trained, a few years ago I wouldn’t have been able to function without butter eggs and cream, not to mention highly processed non organic refined produce but times have changed and so have I.
I really do hope that some lovely people try some of my recipes, as I always say to my students that come to my courses, its not rocket science! Its just food. Don’t ever be scared to give it a try, if the average family included one or two plant based days into their families weekly diets, our global footprint would be significantly reduced and who knows, the world might be a slightly healthier place!
